The Site
The layout of the site has been the key consideration in planning the regeneration of Highams Park School and includes the following elements:
- improved department organisation and student movement around site
- removes barriers to accessibility caused by the site gradient changes and step access
- permits sharing of facilities with neighbouring schools and the community
- positioning of the new building frees up more space for hard and soft landscaped areas
- retains the majority of mature trees around the boundary with a planting strategy across site which brings better connection to nature
- enhanced memorial garden.
