Interior Typical Classroom
Project Team
Department for Education (DfE) is responsible for children’s services and education, including early years, schools, higher and further education policy, apprenticeships and wider skills in England. Highams Park School was prioritised through the DfE’s School Rebuilding Programme due to the need to address the condition issues in some of the existing buildings.
Bowmer + Kirkland (B+K) is appointed to the DfE’s national construction framework and is the contractor selected under this framework. B+K is one of the UK’s largest privately owned construction contractors and is active in most market sectors, including education. B+K will manage all aspects of the project to ensure work is carried out safely, on time, to the right quality and with the least disruption possible to neighbours.
Jestico + Whiles is an employee-owned international architecture and interior design practice based in London and Prague. Its talented team of over 100 people has completed major projects throughout the UK and across the world. It has proven expertise in excellent, sustainable design across a wide range of sectors: housing, hotels, education, offices, retail, research, transport, and cultural facilities.
Ares Landscape Architects has worked with B+K in collaboration with the DfE for many years to develop and create site masterplans and successful educational external spaces throughout the UK. Ares has forged a relationship with B+K that has helped define effective and successful educational sites each unique for the individual schools’ needs.
Hexa Consulting is highly experienced in transport planning in the education sector supporting project teams with the production of Transport Statements, Assessments and Travel Plans and on discussing highways matters with the Highways authority.
DPP Planning is a national town planning consultancy advising both public and private agencies on the delivery of development projects. DPP is advising B+K and the DfE on the Highams Park School proposals. DPP’s role is to manage the planning process, advise on planning issues raised and to liaise with planning officers at Waltham Forest Council.
Stonyrock is working with the project team to facilitate the community engagement on the proposals. Stonyrock provide clients with the tools to engage with neighbourhoods throughout the planning process from scheme conception to completion.
